Erwin Verdonck, maker of lutes and guitars

The craftmanship needed to turn a rough piece of wood into an object of beauty has always amazed me. For me the worlds of woodworking and music merged together at the age of fourteen, when I came across a plan for the construction of a dulcimer. I started this 'little' project and finished it beyond expectations.

Over the years I have continued to build and play musical instruments. Taking classical guitar- and lutemaking classes at the Cmb, school for musical instrument building, in Puurs (Belgium), made me decide to take the leap towards professional lutherie.

In my opinion every musician, amateur and professional, should have the opportunity to purchase a gentle playing, hand built instrument. It is for you that I offer my skills and passion to build an instrument to your needs, with the best quality woods, and for a fair price.
